Iron Specifications

Ductile and Gray Iron Castings

Gray, Ductile and Austempered Iron

Kohler Industrial Castings produces three (3) grades of gray iron, four (4) grades of ductile iron, and five (5) grades of austempered ductile iron. Special, nonstandard grades can also be produced at a customer's request.

Gray Iron

We specify gray iron by tensile strength and Brinell hardness.

Ductile Iron

Ductile iron grades are specified by tensile strength, yield strength and percent elongation.

Properties are evaluated using separately cast test bars.
